‘We have to free half of the human race, the women, so that they can help free the other half.’

You’ll have heard of Emmeline Pankhurst. A political activist, leader of the British suffragette movement, and the protagonist quoted in this radical tea towel, Pankhurst was a founding member of the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU), the organisation which won women the right to vote in Britain. Although conceived as a radical figure in her time, she has become a household name today: a celebration of how far we have come since her efforts, and above all, an inspiration of how far we have yet to go in order to liberate our sisters all around the world.
